Yuet Foon Chung, aged 68, Professor, PhD, RN. Professor Yuet Foon Chung is from Australia, she has worked at the School of Nursing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and specializes in nursing research, qualitative research, English teaching and etc. Since arriving in China in 2001, she has had extensive contacts and continuing collaborations with a number of universities. She served as a foreign teacher at School of Medicine of Northwest Minzu University in 2010, an external expert of Gansu Provincial Hospital in 2011, a foreign teacher at School of Foreign Langugage of Lanzhou University from 2012 to 2018, and a foreign professor at School of Nursing of Lanzhou University from 2019 to July 2022. With her extensive experience, professor Yuet Foon Chung has mentored two young teachers in School of Nursing, and promoted international exchanges and cooperation between School of Nursing and universities in Australia and other countries, including Deakin University, Newcastle University and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in nursing education, nursing scientific research, and program of Introducing international Talents and etc. Professor Yuet Foon Chung actively liaised with professors overseas and introduced two guest professors to School of Nursing: Kam Yuet Wong and Regiina Lai Tong LEE. Laying emphasis on talent training, she has also held the Workshop of ‘Professor Kam Yuet Wong-School of Nursing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University’, promoted the School of Nursing of Lanzhou University to join the 'Chinese Consortium for Higher Education' by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and jointly set the summer international exchange course 'Health Education and Health Promotion' and the postgraduate course 'Qualitative Research' with Professor Regina. In terms of conducting scientific research, professor Yuet Foon Chung organized the School of Nursing of Lanzhou University and the School of Nursing of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University to jointly set up a training program focused on 'Continuing Care and Research of Burn Patients', and conducted the cooperative research -- Continuing health Care of Adult Burn Patients after Rehabilitation, and published 3 related peer-reviewed papers. Two studies about online game addiction among adolescents were also conducted by her team in Australia, the United Kingdom, Japan, Thailand, South Korea, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Macao, Shandong, and Lanzhou. Professor Yuet Foon Chung got plenty of scientific research achievements, she published eight SCI articles, four Chinese articles, and attended two international conferences and three domestic conferences in the past three years. As a major member, she has been approved for a project of the China Medical Board (CMB), presided over or participated in five other research projects. Professor Yuet Foon Chung is also an very enthusiastic volunteer, she has been mentored in the Lanzhou De’ai Social Service Centre of the Mentally Handicapped, to assist adolescents with cerebral palsy and Intellectual Disabilities in rehabilitation training.
