Cui-Ying International Nursing Conference and Annual Meeting of the Nursing Education Committee, Gansu Nursing Association hosted by School of Nursing, Lanzhou University

Cui-Ying International Nursing Conference and Annual Meeting of the Nursing Education Committee, Gansu Nursing Association, hosted by the School of Nursing of Lanzhou University, was held on November 21 at Lanzhou University. The conference focused on nursing education, nursing clinical management and the practical application of information technology in nursing practice, to promote the sustainable development of nursing discipline via deepening the academic exchange and cooperation of international nursing research. With the theme of 'Innovation, Leadership and Development ', this activity was carried out by the combination of online and offline. Numerous well-known experts and scholars from foreign countries, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, etc, were invited to exchange ideas and experiences in nursing education, nursing management and nursing informatics. As well as many domestic well-known nursing experts gave academic reports, who were from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Peking University, Peking Union Medical College, Sichuan University, Lanzhou University, etc. More than 300 nursing experts, clinical nurses, teachers and students from various universities and hospitals attended the meeting. 

The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Han Lin, Dean of the School of Nursing of Lanzhou University and Director of the Nursing Department of Gansu Provincial Hospital.  

Xu Shengcheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of Lanzhou University, delivered a welcome speech at the opening ceremony. He emphasized that nursing was a sacred health career. School of Nursing of Lanzhou University had rich experience in nursing education and formed a unique talent training model in the education practice. With remarkable achievements in improvement of discipline development, the School of Nursing began to highlight its role and advantages in the western nursing scientific research field and made important contributions to medical and health services in Gansu. Xu hoped that through this academic conference, nursing colleagues could enhance communications and learnt from each other to make more contributes to the development of nursing disciplines, and dedicate to the rapid development of a healthy China.

Subsequently, Qi Haiyan, chairman of the Gansu Nursing Association, and Professor Wu Xinjuan, Chairman of the Chinese Nursing Association, delivered an opening speech, respectively. At the end of the opening ceremony, the winners of the First Young and Middle-aged Teacher Teaching Competition were commended and awarded by Gansu Nursing Association.
After the opening ceremony, well-known nursing experts and scholars from home and abroad gave their keynote speeches.

Domestic experts, such as Professor Wu Xinjuan, Professor Jiang Xiaoying, Professor Li Jiping, Professor Li Hongyu and Professor Han Lin, as well as international experts for instance, Professor Gwen Sherwood, vice President of the International Nursing Honors Society and associate dean of the School of Nursing at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Professor Golden Moon, fellow of the American Academy of Nursing Sciences and associate dean of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Medical and Social Sciences, Professor Regina Lai Tong Lee, fellow of the American Academy of Nursing Sciences from School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Newcastle, Australia, Professor Bodil Rasmussen, head of School of Nursing and Midwifery, Deakin University, Australia, Dr. Karen Wynter, assistant researcher from School of Nursing and Midwifery, Deakin University, Australia, Professor Brendan McCormack, fellow of the European Academy of Nursing Sciences and dean of the School of Nursing and Occupational and Art Therapy, Queen Margaret University, and Professor Charlotte Clarke, dean of the School of Social Sciences and Health, Durham University, presented specialized topic report about 'Enlightenment and thinking on the training of nursing professionals under the Covid-19 epidemic' 'How to determine valuable research questions' 'Leadership and Nursing Management' 'Selection and declaration of nursing education research in the context of Healthy China' 'Thinking of nursing talent training in western regions, China' 'Innovation, Leadership and Clinical Management: Nurses leading patient safety' 'The role and management of specialist nurses in clinical nursing practice' 'Roles of Primary Care Nurses in the Community during the SARS-CoV-2 virus' 'A novel online guided self-determination program to improve self-determination in young adults with type I diabetes' 'Nurses' and midwives' perceptions and experiences of Electronic Medical Records(EMR) at a metropolitan public hospital in Melbourne, Australia' 'Researching Person-centered Practice: Theoretical and Methodological Considerations' 'Leading Change in the Thinking About Dementia and Being Human'' , respectively.
Finally, Dr. Wang Yanhong from the School of Nursing of Lanzhou University presided over the closing ceremony.
