From July 1 to July 14, The School of Nursing Lanzhou University  held the "International Summer Course Week" activity in 2024 and offered the course "Introduction of Qualitative Research in Health Care"，which is taught online by Professor Lee Regina Lai Tong from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Three young teachers, Yin Min, Wang Qing, and Wu Jiao-jiao, also participated and assisted in teaching.

Thirteen master students majored in nursing gathered and learned through teaching online and offline. They had in-depth discussions on the application and practice of qualitative research in the field of health care. The course introduces the design of qualitative research, typical research methods of qualitative study, and discusses related research issues in the field of health care, to guide the students to systematically and comprehensively understand the application of qualitative research in the nursing field.

During the teaching period, Professor Regina, with her profound academic skills and rich teaching experience, used various vivid research examples to impart complex qualitative research theories to every student in a simple and easy way. Students interacted actively in class with the professor. The three assistant teachers also meticulously organized offline group discussions. At the end of the course, Professor Regina reviewed the qualitative research proposals submitted by students one by one and provided detailed feedbacks. Through Professor Regina's careful guidance, the students mastered the qualitative research method better and laid a solid foundation for future academic research.

This course was an important opportunity to enhance the international cooperation and communication level of the School of Nursing Lanzhou University. Through in-depth communication and learning with Professor Lee Regina Lai Tong from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the students not only feel the collision and integration of different academic cultures, but also enhance their confidence in establishing connections with international peers and jointly exploring the frontiers of academic research. The cross-regional and cross-cultural academic exchanges has also laid the foundation for the further development of international cooperation program and scientific research cooperation for School of Nursing Lanzhou University in the future.
